Before the first visit
Does my child need to be an experienced player?
No. The session is intended to accommodate a range of strengths, and pairings and questions can be adjusted accordingly.
Do we need to bring a chess set or clock?
No. The club has chess equipment available.
Does my child need ECF membership?
Not simply to attend ordinary junior sessions. ECF membership may be required for particular rated tournaments or league matches.
Can an 11-year-old attend?
The main age range is 12–16, but younger players may be considered where the organisers and parent or guardian agree that the session is suitable.
